Newly undressed emperors in demented daze Do crows call somewhat beseeching at sparrows fart? With light spilling in through 5th floored doorways, and trucks doing watt only they knowโฆ powerless. And, in the meanthyme, catโs water trickles electronically induced in the bowl atop the bench from which she never drinks.Another futile purchase, and you wonder what has … Continue reading Poem at 5 a.m.

Dissecting Digital Capitalism: The Fight for Consumer Minds 1
Capitalism may well be stuck in its end of days but it remains dangerously tractable and capable of fucking us up. In the third decade of this century most of us certainly feel like the world is an enormous mess. We've got despots in charge of some of the worldโs largest โeconomiesโ allegedly running things. We've got wars and violent conflicts on any number of scales....
The strange attraction of โThe End of Daysโ mindset
Personally, I am attracted to the idea [yes it may just be a conspiracy theory] that the world is ruled by plutocrats who somehow believe they will โ when the shit hits the fan โ be able to retire to Planet B. Or at least an island they own, or a mountain top somewhere. And there theyโll retire to a bunker and await the rapture, or some such epiphany that miraculously fixes everything and lets them get back to business as usual.

Trump spoke โ falsely, Iโll say โ to these people. That is why they voted for him. Why they would vote for him again in 2024, should he run.
Commentary on ‘Strangers in Their Own Land’
Neoliberalism and the self-harm faithful An introduction Iโve been exercising what passes for my mind with THE GREAT DIVIDE that currently occupies much of the debate about the state of the [American] nation. Forgive my anything but slick allusion to that address given by the US president, but itโs almost incumbent on anyone with an … Continue reading Commentary on ‘Strangers in Their Own Land’

Viral government Here is a definition of good government from a book for kids (The big fat NO debates โ Government) by yours truly. If kids can get this, so should most adults. Allโฆ people want pretty much the same things as you and me. โข Love โข To feel safe/secure โข A bit (or … Continue reading Bad government 2
Malleable…
The paperback cover. I am not (as should be evident) the world's best (or even 1.5 billionth best) graphic designer but I think this one works, at least a little, at getting across what the book is about. Hints of games, playing with dice and gambling, algorithms, and the fluidity of data.

Made a quick promo film for the book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLocqrNqmvU Sixteen year old Nick Seche is a gamer, a nerd. It's 2024 and Seche wins a beta trial of a new tech, sensory immersive gaming unit and program from innovative gaming guru, Daichi Arata, head of Phantom Gaming. It's a game apparently locked in the mundanity … Continue reading Malleable published by moi…
Welcome to our mediaeval times
Iโll argue that in this early 21st century venality and appalling inequity is again (still) on general display, that institutions are both revered and detested, that pandemics dominate and fundamentally change our world, and that reason seems lost amid a sea of conspiracy theories, despite the best efforts of some authorities. As Julia Hurst and Zoe Laidlaw observed recently, โโฆidentity is rooted in history, and so history cannot be escaped.โ
An alternative truth
The opening of a novella about this pandemic; just set somewhere else entirely. In a world with alternative truths what we would perhaps prefer is an alternative world on which to trial them. Part 1 - Beginnings December 13 Nahuw, Anihc Moon is about to place an Uggo piece into what he hopes will be a … Continue reading An alternative truth
